Continental Engineering has been providing the Rhode Island area with the highest quality heating and air conditioning installation & service for 35 years. Established in 1976 by Richard DiRocco Sr. and his wife, Sally, Continental Engineering is one of the oldest and most respected HVAC companies in Rhode Island, They expanded from a small building in Providence to their present location of more than 8,000 square feet in Johnston.

Richard DiRocco Sr., who has over 45 years’ experience, is a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineer Society, the Chamber of Commerce, and associate member of the Rhode Island State Troopers Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and the Better Business Bureau. He has also served on the Lennox Sales Advisory Commission and holds a Rhode Island Master Mechanical Contractor’s License.

He is accompanied by his son, Richard Jr., who has worked with his father since a very young age. During school vacations and college breaks, Richard Jr. continued learning the family business as a sheetmetal installer, pipe fitter and service technician, gaining extensive knowledge of the installation process. Field experience together with formal education has proven to be a great asset in his current position. Richard Jr. now is responsible for most of the residential sales.

Continental also maintains its own in-house sheetmetal facility. Continental also offers a registered and State of Rhode Island approved apprenticeship program.
